"Abbey Kyat is an Island Music artist, writer, entrepreneur and actress who performs Soca, Calypso, Reggae and Hip Hop. She calls herself a Regghipso artist that brings life’s situations to light often in a lighthearted fashion."

Abbey’s ‘Kyat Pack’ includes Cocoanut Lady, producer Sli of Sli Productions, artist and songwriter Yonachak and writer and artist Mece.

Abbey began performing in 1993 along with a local Deejay named Sli (Sellaci) of Sli Productions. Often emulating artists such as Shelly Thunder, Patra, Sister Carol, Salt And Pepa and Queen Latifah, the US Virgin Island-born Abbey's commanding voice caught the ear of local Producer Seko Varner of the Virginia-based Seko Sound System. She joined the group in 1995 and began doing shows and mixed tapes. In 1999 Seko Sound System released Abbey's first single the Hip Hop-Salsa-Calypso flavored 'No Jestering' to good reviews.
